Koki-Ho Reiki: Healing Through Breath

Koki-Ho reiki is another powerful technique taught by Dr. Usui.
This method involves using the breath to send Reiki energy, offering a refreshing and invigorating approach to energy healing.

This practice, while not explicitly preserved in the teachings of Takata Sensei, is subtly present in various attunement processes where a Reiki Master imparts energy or symbols by breathing them into a student.

This method is particularly beneficial for treating individuals who cannot be physically touched, such as those with burns or injuries, and for those who prefer not to be touched, like survivors of abuse.

How to Practice Koki-Ho Reiki:

  1. Identify an area on the client that needs extra Reiki.
This could be an area where the life force is blocked, or where there is pain or a diseased condition.
  2. Breathe in deeply
Drawing your breath down to the deep belly or Tanden power point which is by the navel.
  3. Hold your breath for a moment and, using your tongue, draw a power symbol or any other symbol(s) you are guided to use on the top of your mouth (skip this step if you have only Reiki I).
  4. Position your mouth a few inches above the area in need and breathe out like you were blowing out a candle, into this area, contracting the belly and breathing out completely.
  5. As you breathe out, imagine you are breathing Reiki and the symbol(s) into the area in need.
  6. Repeat this process several times if needed.
  7. Follow with hands-on Reiki over or around the area in need.

By integrating these techniques into your Reiki practice, you can deepen your connection with the universal life force energy and enhance your healing capabilities.

Whether you’re gazing softly with Gyoshi-Ho or breathing deeply with Koki-Ho, these techniques offer a unique way to channel and direct Reiki energy.
